Following the last of the preseason scrimmages in the preseason training in Arizona, the Colorado Rapids have finished looking at the gang of trialists that they brought in and have decided to keep three of them on board for the 2011 season.

Eddie Ababio, (Rapids first round choice out of UNC) Steven Emory, (Rapids academy player and Metro State midfielder) and Mike Holody (Former draft selection by the Rapids who was released last year) have all managed to make the team. Caleb Folan – the striker out of Hull who had a pretty good set of games during the scrimmages – is currently in England again and the Rapids have not released whether or not they plan to sign him up yet. Considering Gary Smith and the rest of the teams praising of Folen I think it's more likely than not that he winds up signing for at least a one year long loan from Hull similar to the Charlie Davies deal in DC.

Andy Lorei, Adrian Leroy, JT Murray, and Logan Emory were all released by Colorado and will have to find footing elsewhere. The most surprising of the cuts is probably Murray, considering he was a 2nd round draft selection this year and getting his second and probably last shot of the season to make an MLS club.
