While we can certainly say already that this squad is much better than the squad which almost set records for futility last season, it's hard to say after watching them play New England that they're ready for prime time. Games against strong teams like the Rapids will probably define the season for DC United this year if they want to make a playoff berth. Until then they seem to be stuck in the 'mediocre' tier of MLS as of now.
