Since the two players were selected in the 2nd round of the re-entry draft, Colorado has the rights to both of them and can negotiate contracts with them rather than having to pay their old salaries. Midfield depth was one of the biggest keys to the offseason for the Rapids, so it looks like the re-entry draft was a success in that regard. With two new midfielders on the roster, this also puts into question whether or not they'll take another one in the Superdraft.
Colorado player Mike Holody was not selected in the draft, so they will be able to get him back if they wish.
