Oh, Scott Palguta. There's just so much to say about the former Rochester Rhino, and so preciously little of it is good. The second pickup by the Gary Smith regime from the Rhinos on defense, Palguta was originally picked up to provide defensive depth off the bench, so the expectations for him weren't quite as high as they were for instant starter

. Unfortunately, his defending was far worse than Earls', and there was never a confidence problem to blame for it. Palguta had dominated the lower levels of the American soccer pyramid but when it came to MLS he just seemed a step behind everybody. Fortunately even in the injury plagued year that was 2012 he was kept off the field for most of the season, but he was one of the least useful players overall every time that he appeared.

This season he scored two goals, but even then those goals were only needed because he was directly responsible for the other team scoring both times. It is pretty hilarious that his two goals on three shots leads the team in shot conversion.

It's hard to see Palguta sticking around when there are better options that can probably be had for the same price. Hopefully he goes back to the NASL or another league, he's proven that he can be wonderful for lower level teams.
