Shane O'Neill, the second homegrown player in Rapids history and also the first one to have gotten first team minutes in an MLS game, was originally groomed as a forward, and moved to defensive midfielder at the end of last season. That was the position he played against Swansea City and the Portland Timbers, and he looked pretty good while doing so.

At some point, he appears to have been turned into a center back, and it looks like that is going to be his career path going forward. Paul Bravo hinted that he was being occasionally being looked at as a CB in the U-20 National Team, and he got time at the position during the Desert Friendlies as well.

You can add one more U-20 CB appearance to his resume now — the Rapids announced on Thursday that he would be getting another appearance with the U-20 team and he's being outright listed as a defender instead of a midfielder, like he was in years past.

Go, Shane, go!
