Naturally, we had to have a short chat with Big D Soccer, our fantastic Dallas blog. We exchanged a couple of questions back and forth in preparation for tomorrow's game, talking players, tactics and more.
Here's the questions I asked Brian and his responses, check out their site for my answers to their questions:
BW: Dallas re-tooled a bit over the off-season, adding some pieces despite losing Brek Shea. What would you say is the biggest weakness remaining on the roster for FCD?
BDS: Our biggest weakness will be the time it takes for new strike partners to develop chemistry with each other and our wide attacking wingers. Blas operated as a lone striker last season, and this season will see him have company as Schellas institutes a 4-4-2 formation. It will take a little time for the new players to learn each others' movements, but expect FC Dallas to score a load of goals in 2013.
BW: Who is a Dallas player we may not know very much about that we should watch out for on Saturday?
BDS: David has been handed the captain's armband this year. I expect that this leadership role, coupled with a healthy start to the season, will build his confidence to be more creative with our new additions at forward. I expect him to be posting 10+ assists by the end of the season with 5-10 goals to bolster his stats.
