As we do every year, through the month of December we'll be doing ratings and reviews of every player who played even a slightly significant amount of minutes for the Colorado Rapids in 2013. We'll start from the goalkeepers and move our way up to the forwards. Today, we'll cover Pablo Mastroeni.

Name: Pablo Mastroeni

Number: 25

Appearances: 7 (305 minutes)

Stats: N/A

We were worried about Pablo Mastroeni after last season, as his injury issues from 2012 kept him out for almost the entire year. In fact, they won both of their games where he played in 2012, and lost… well, nearly everything else. When he started the first game of the year against FC Dallas, he actually didn't look all that bad for an older guy with injury issues. Unfortunately, it only took until the second game of the season for him to suffer his first injury.

After that, he slowly petered out until his playing time essentially became nil. At that point, still seeking a bit of playing time if he could get it, he asked for a trade to the LA Galaxy, where he got a handful more minutes before watching the Galaxy fail to beat Real Salt Lake in the playoffs.

As expected, Mastroeni's long and storied career came to an end a few weeks ago. It's a shame that he wasn't able to hang up the boots while wearing Rapids colors, but I doubt that his lasting legacy will be shown in any color but burgundy.

PLAYER RATING: 3.5
