The inevitable retirement came, but fortunately for us, Pablo immediately bounced back to his old town. Colorado announced today that Pablo will be joining the technical staff of the team, in the rather vague position of 'Special Assistant to the Technical Director'. He's the second assistant to Paul Bravo to be hired this off-season, with John Metgod being brought in yesterday.

Pablo, for all intents and purposes, essentially was a coach for the Rapids the past two seasons as he spent time recovering from various injuries. It's not out of the question to suggest that Pablo may eventually be taking on a coaching role in the organization later on down the road. We're still not quite sure who our manager is going to be going into the SuperDraft in a week, but it's good to see that there will still be a good staff together to make smart picks if a manager isn't yet in place.
