Colorado had to think quick on this one. Only two picks ago, they selected Jared Watts with pick No. 33, but pick 35 came up right after. With their second selection in the second round, the Rapids opted to add to their goalkeeping corps by picking up John Burner out of the University of Southern Illinois.

I'm not even going to pretend I know much about Berner, but he did have six shutouts for his team last year and won Conference Goalkeeper of the Year for the Missouri Valley conference. He'll be the third keeper on the team behind Clint Irwin and Matt Pickens.

With that pick finished, Colorado is done with the first phase of the SuperDraft. They will have two more picks in round three and four, the 11th overall selection in each round. With those rounds essentially taking the place of the Supplemental Draft now though, the players you're likely going to want to watch are the three that were picked today.
