They teased it out that he would be a guy with MLS Championship game, USMNT and general Colorado soccer experience. Though the immediate fun answer to throw out was Marcelo Balboa, they went for a bit less outlandish choice in former Rapids defender Steve Trittschuh.

Trittschuh, who was also an assistant coach for the Rapids for a period of a few years back in the mid-2000's (including their two very good campaigns in '05 and '06), has never had a head coaching position before, but will have plenty of time to get accustomed to the settings before the Switchbacks kick off in 2015.
