Piermayr will take up an international spot on the Rapids roster. The 24-year-old has experience in Austria and Norway, and represented the Austrian U-21 National team at one point in his career.

Though the Neeskens signing might still happen before the week is through — the team does quite clearly need as many bodies in the defensive depth chart as they can get at the moment — it would seem to me that Piermayr is a more likely starting candidate at left back against the Whitecaps this weekend, with his experience being the key factor over the 20-year-old Dutch trialist.
