Jack Price warm ups

Brackley, UK – Former Colorado Rapids captain and star midfielder Jack Price has landed. The 32-year-old has signed with National League side Brackely Town F.C., the club announced Sunday.

This is welcomed news for all Colorado Rapids fans. After an emotional exit from the club at the end of 2023, Pricey joined boyhood club Shrewsbury Town for the final six weeks of their season. He scored the equalizer in a draw against Oxford. Salop avoided relegation. Price wasn’t retained in the summer.

Price tore his Achilles Tendon on March 18, 2023, coming off the bench from Minnesota United. That was his final appearance for Colorado. Sources told Burgundy Wave he was continuing rehab/training in early 2024 with staff at Shrewsbury. Sources further indicated that other injuries had been the concern since his short stint at Meadow Lane. Price also dealt with a hip and abdominal injury at Colorado.

Regardless of the injuries or the level of play, Jack Price is back and we’re happy. Jack took a risk coming to MLS from Wolverhampton Wanderers. From 2018-2022, he became a star. He was a leader, becoming captain in 2020 after Tim Howard retired. He was a do-it-all holding midfielder. Took corners for the best set piece team in the league. Part of that fantastic three-man midfield in 2021. The Rapids brought the best out in him, on and off the field. He came to love Colorado. Colorado loved him back.

If he doesn’t get hip checked by a Minnesota player in 2022 and doesn’t tear his Achilles, he might still be Rapids captain. In hindsight, the Rapids front office not retaining him was probably a good decision. He’ll always be welcome at the C38 tailgate.

If any non-current Colorado player deserves consideration for the club’s Gallery of Honor, it’s probably Jack Price. Good for him, going back to his roots and play for Shrewsbury. It’s great he’s found a home after a year off.

Brackley just got promoted from the National League North (sixth division) to the National League (fifth division, where Wrexham was when Rob and Ryan bought them). Hopefully they stay up. Hopefully Price plays regularly and does his thing in midfield to help make that happen. We’d love nothing more than for him to get back to being himself.

Brackley is due north of Oxford, about halfway between London and Birmingham, for the Rapids fans who don’t have a non league team yet.

Shoutout to Debbie Price.
