Commerce City, Colo. – Colorado Rapids have loaned Homegrown goalkeeper Adam Beaudry to USL Championship side Loudoun United for the 2026 season, the club announced Tuesday. Colorado retains the option to recall the 19-year-old at any time. Box State Footy was the first to report.

Beaudry is a Rapids Academy graduate, having spent 2023 with Colorado Rapids 2 in MLS NEXT Pro. Shortly before graduating high school in 2024, he signed a Homegrown MLS contract for four seasons with two team options. He is thought of very highly by the Rapids Front Office and goalkeeper coach Chris Sharpe. They see the potential for him to play in Europe some day.

Splitting time between first team training and Rapids 2 games in 2024, he made his MLS debut on Decision Day that year at Austin FC. He had one MLS appearance in 2025, a home match against Portland Timbers. Later last season, he was loaned to Colorado Springs Switchbacks where they won four of his six appearances. He pushed incumbent Christian Herrera. Beaudry is capable of being a USL starter right now. This should be a good development move for him.

Loudoun were at one point the reserve affiliate of D.C. United. They are now independent in the USLC. They made the playoffs last year, losing in the first round. Two of their goalkeepers from last year have left the club with one signing with Louisville and the other retiring. The third was an academy kid who was signed for just 2025.

Beaudry’s former Rapids teammate Ethan Bandré has signed with the club and played the entirety of the club’s first preseason game. If Beaudry’s as good as the Rapids think he is, he should be Loudoun’s starter for most of his time there. This should set Beaudry up to at least be a viable backup in 2027 with more to come after that.
