  • Colorado Rapids vs. Los Angeles Galaxy – Game Preview

Colorado and Los Angeles are both on fantastic runs of form right now, with Los Angeles going unbeaten in their last eight games and Colorado in their last nine. As such, LA is tops in the West right now and Colorado is climbing the ladder slowly but surely, sitting in third at present in a tie with Seattle, Colorado having a game in hand. Interestingly, even with the unbeaten streak Colorado has currently not won a game at home in five, so the Galaxy match will be a chance to swing that around as well. Interestingly, they're actually undefeated in five away from home so this is a development we rarely see for this team.

With Colorado coming back to full strength, there's a very good chance that this one could be a Rapids win at home.

    UZ'S PREDICTION: 2-1 Rapids

  • Colorado Rapids vs. Los Angeles Galaxy – Three Keys to the Game

Long story short, Los Angeles will be out for blood, Donovan-less they may be. Here's three things that can help the Rapids keep themselves on the unbeaten run and perhaps even beat LA at home, something they failed to do last year as they lost 1-0 in one of only two losses at home they would endure.

Keep the Attack Strong – The Cummings/Casey tandem up top was one of the big reasons why the Rapids managed to beat the Galaxy 3-1 in LA last season – both players notched a goal for themselves in that match – and it was a staggering lack of confidence in the attack that caused the Rapids to lose 1-0 in Commerce City to them last year. The offense still flows through the strikers in this offence despite what the numbers may be showing, so it's imperative to their success that they get the ball to the now healthy Cummings and in turn to Casey in good positions. It's been so long since we've seen the magic that those two can put together on the pitch that it's easy to forget that they are the best duo in MLS. They'll need to continue to be the best against that strong if occasionally inexperienced Los Angeles defence.

Injuries – I seriously say this every game now, don't I? …Well, it's still relevant. The Rapids have already had a season's worth of lost man-games, they can't afford all that many more from a team that's won games simply by being such a great unit together.

  • Short Scouting Report: Los Angeles Galaxy

The team has looked a lot less potent without their current MVP candidate Donovan in the line-up this season, which spells good news for Colorado as Donovan is currently in the Gold Cup playing for the United States. Even without Landon though, LA has managed a long string of great results recently after that tepid start to the year. Another supporters shield wouldn't be out of the question for these guys if injury stays away and they manage to keep pace better than Salt Lake with Donovan around.

  • Real Colorado Foxes play in the Open Cup tonight

If you're in the mood for some Colorado footy with the Rapids off until this Saturday but don't feel like watching the USA play and probably scare the hell out of us against Guadalupe, you're in luck. The Fake Real Colorado Foxes – a USL squad founded in 2008 and named after the original Colorado Foxes who were the only game in town back before the Rapids showed up in 1996 – will be providing some US Lamar Hunt Open Cup action in the Mile High city tonight.

  • Is Anthony Wallace being held out?

So why is Anthony Wallace seemingly in Gary Smith's doghouse? A lingering injury we haven't heard about? Bad practices for the young back? Your guess is as good as mine.
