Unfortunately, we never really got to see a full-strength Buddle at work. He suffered a knee injury in the preseason while with the US Men's National Team and never seemed to fully recover from it. While his trademarks did occasionally shine through — excellent hold-up play, solid finishing, great off-the-ball movement to create chances for others — he seemed out of shape even at his best, and he missed several games with that recurring knee injury.
