All games are Saturdays unless stated otherwise. All kickoff times are listed Mountain Time.

Keep in mind also that the Rapids actually start the season February 18, hosting LAFC in CONCACAF Champions Cup. They then play the second leg at LAFC after opening the MLS regular season against St. Louis City.

First thing that stands out is way less midweek games compared to last year. They had seven midweek games in the regular season last year, plus all those Leagues Cup games. They have just four Wednesday games this year, all of which are in summer. One Sunday game. Also noteworthy: The 4th of July game against SKC is on a Friday.

All those three-game-weeks were brutal last year. Leagues Cup is reportedly going to midweek only and happening alongside league play. I see a lot of open Wednesday in April and May for Open Cup as well.

There’s also not really a bad part of the schedule. Just one stretch of three road games in a row and that’s spread out. There’s no gauntlet of tough games that could derail the team. The MLS schedule makers were kind in that regard.

Let’s talk actual matches. The home opener is March 1 against FC Dallas. Lalas Abubakar Revenge Tour to open the season should be exciting. With San Diego FC joining MLS, Western Conference teams have two more conference games.

So, the Rocky Mountain Cup is just a two leg affair for the foreseeable future. Home leg is May 17. The away match is second to last week of the season October 4. that should make the season climactic.

Colorado goes from seven to six non-conference games. Home to Charlotte, at D.C. United, vs. Orlando, at New England, at Philadelphia (Draft Pick Derby), and vs. Atlanta. No Miami, neither Ohio teams. Atlanta at altitude. That’s a favorable six games right there.

There’s also way more night games as well. Colorado got two west coast road games that are at 7:30. Not sure why. Charlotte at home is an afternoon kickoff. At Minnesota is a Sunday 4:00 game. Decision Day is 7:00. Every other match is 7:30 in the local time zone. Yay consistency.

Other games to highlight: The two San Diego games are April 12 and May 14. At San Diego is a Wednesday, unfortunately. Colorado will be done with the expansion side early in the year. Hopefully they have a slow start. June 25 and August 23 revenge against LA Galaxy as well.

It is a bit annoying Colorado could start and end the year with LAFC at home given the history between the two clubs.
