Seattle, WA– The USMNT took a commanding lead in Group D with a win over Australia at Lumen Field. The US is now through to the knockouts of the World Cup, but still must wait on other results to see if they have won the group just two games in. Lucas Herrington was an unused substitute. Auston Trusty got the last ten minutes. The USMNTÂ won on the back of an own goal and a goal that had to be given through VAR. It wasn’t the prettiest game. But the US makes it two-for-two and has a convincing lead in the group. All good so far for Mauricio Pochettino and Co. Here are the photos from the important win:
