Despite this, it was a fascinating affair, with a late winner from Turkiye giving them their first win of the World Cup and stopping the USMNT in their tracks right before the knockout stage. Former Rapid Auston Trusty scored and went 90 minutes in the 3-2 loss. The United States rested a majority of their starters, and it showed with a lack of quality in decisive moments, especially on the backline.
