The off-season is just about halfway over with the MLS SuperDraft now out of the way, which means it is time to throw down a Rapids Approval Ratings poll! I expect the results are going to be a bit different from last season's polls, which were surprisingly positive. The rundown of events — * Signed…

Let's just get this out of the way: this pick will not happen. Considering Ives has three International prospects going in the first round, I have a feeling he's going to be very disappointed come draft day. In addition to the whole international point, I'm not even going to comment on the fact that apparently…

Oh yeah, and Avila just tweeted this: That could mean plenty of things. Maybe he's signed and is hoping that things will change in a good way with the Rapids, assuming they keep him on for years to come. Maybe he means contract negotiations have broken down and he wants them to change. Maybe his…

Last night, Tim Hinchey let it out that the Rapids were expecting to sign a new defender by the end of the week, and Chris Bianchi has reported that the new player is 26-year old Ecuadorian Diego Calderon. Damn injuries! OK, so small sample size and all that, but I'm just going to say this — the Rapids were 2-0-0 in games where Pablo Mastroeni played last year, and 9-19-4 in games without him last year. They also had one of only two (TWO!) non-shutout victories all season with him on the team.…

Smith came back to something resembling full health about halfway through the season, and immediately became a super-sub. His one start, the game against the Seattle Sounders, was probably his worst of the season as his fitness seemed to falter a bit. Fortunately, his ability as a super-sub worked out well enough. He had two…
