Denver, CO – Denver Summitt FC have officially signed their first two players in club history going into their expansion season in NWSL. Last Wednesday, the club confirmed trading for forward Ally Watt in a trade with Orlando City. This past Thursday, the club announced the signing of midfielder Lourdes Bosch A-League Women’s Melbourne City FC.

Watt is originally from Colorado Springs. Went to Pine Creek High School. She’s 28-years-old, 5-8. Previously played at Melbourne (before Bosch got there). She was the sixth overall draft pick at the 2020 NWSL Draft. Previously played in Seattle and North Carolina. In her last three seasons with Pride, she had 6 goals and 3 assists in 60 appearances. She led the league with 3 playoff assists last year. Orlando won the double, winning the NWSL Shield and Championship.

In exchange, Orlando received $75,000 in Expansion Allocation Money and $37,500 in 2025 intra-league transfer funds. Denver and Boston as NWSL expansion teams will have access to $1.065 million in Expansion Allocation Money (are we calling it EAM?), half of which is provided by the league. Clubs pay for the other half. This seams like decent business money wise. If you look at her FBRef stats, she’s very good at progressive possession and take-ons. That does have her as a midfielder though.

As part of the deal, Watt will be on loan with Orlando through the end of 2024. She has 1 goal and 1 assist in 12 starts this year.

“It’s an incredible honor to be the first player in Denver Summit FC history,” said Watt. “As a Coloradan, this opportunity means so much to me, not just to play the game I love, but to represent the place that shaped who I am in front of the people that mean the most to me. I’m proud to help lay the foundation for something special alongside (Denver Summit Head Coach) Nick Cushing.”

Lourdes Bosch is 24-years-old and 5-1. She is a Mexican international, making her international debut this past May. She’s originally from Las Vegas and played college soccer at UNLV and Cal Baptist. She went underrated at the 2024 NWSL Draft and started her playing career in Australia in the A-League.

She’ll have been there a year as of September 3. She’s totaled 21 starts, 1,784 minutes, 4 goals. If you look at her FBRef stats, similar to Watt, she’s putting in goals for a midfielder and good as an individual in possession going forward. That could be a signal to the club’s planned style of play.

The transfer fee was not disclosed. Bosch will go on loan to C.F. Monterrey Femenil until the start of the 2026 NWSL season.

“Lourdes is an exceptional young talent who brings both creativity and composure in the attacking third. She’s already shown the ability to perform on international stages and has the potential to be a cornerstone of our midfield for years to come,” said Denver Summit FC General Manager Curt Johnson.
