Denver, Colo. – Denver Summit has made one of the most decisive acquisitions in its inaugural season. Last week, the team’s General Manager, Curt Johnson, announced that the club signed French International, Pauline Peyraud-Magnin.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper is considered as one of the top keepers in the world.

She leaves Juventus Women. Since her arrival in 2021, her accomplishments, both as a linch pin field player and a figurehead in the team’s changing room, speak volumes of this gifted player.

Peyraud-Magnin has won two Serie A Women titles, three Italian Cup titles, three Italian Super Cups and one Serie A Women’s Cup title. She has also earned 73 caps with the France National Football Team, and played in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in New Zealand and Australia, and the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in France.

But a change of scenery has been on her mind since the Bianconere’s victory over Roma in February’s Supercoppa, if not even sooner. After the win, she began articulating that winning the match and celebrating it with her mates and supporters might be her last.

In the background, the team had been looking to make a few more additions after the start of preseason. The writing was on the wall, then Denver came recruiting.

“Joining Denver Summit FC at this pivotal moment is an exciting challenge,” said Peyraud-Magnin. “This club’s ambition and vision really resonate with me, and I’m eager to contribute to building a winning culture here in Denver. I can’t wait to get on the field and connect with our fans and community”

She will add immense experience to her upstart expansion team. In addition to playing for Juventus, she previously played with European teams- Arsenal, Marseille, Atletico Madrid and her home town team Lyon.

“Pauline is a world-class goalkeeper and an accomplished international competitor,” said Johnson. “Her leadership, consistency, and competitive drive make her the perfect addition to a team building its identity from the ground up. We are thrilled to welcome her to Denver and confident she will play a key role in our success both on and off the field.”

Her contract will run through the 2027 season. Expect her to be the starting goalkeeper. We’ll see how she adjusts to NWSL given she’ll be joining preseason late.
